Here's me with my first posting and who else to begin with but my precious little (older) daughter:
One day she asked me very innocently, "Mommy, what is a Happy new year?"
I was surprised to hear this seemingly simple but difficult question from my 31/2 year old ... how can you explain such a thing in a simple enough way for a child to understand. So, I thought for sometime and decided to use her knowledge to explain the concept:
I asked her to recite all months of the year and in her ever so sweet voice she began ; January..February .... and so on. As she said December I explained to her that next month is again January... and this point when January comes after December is called "New Year".
As we were talking about the New Year how could I not introduce her to resolutions, so made her understand it in the simplest manner. I gave her a few options as resolutions and she chose one i.e. to brush her teeth every night in addition to the mornings. Ahh.. lucky me such an amazing daughter I am gifted with.... Oh lo.. after all the explanations we got trapped; unknowingly myself and my husband had signed up on her resolution, from that day three of us are doing this great job!!!
This one is an imposed resolution on me as my history of making resolutions and executing them is very very poor.. Every year I determine to do something but it comes to an end without a start.. this year also I thought of making a resolution on "Weight loss" but who will wake up early for those Gym sessions... so once again I found it better to break it and sleep in the cozy, wintery mornings ..
"Kis kis ko yaad kijiye ... kis kis ko roiye
aaraam badi cheez hai .. munh dhak ke soiye"
thats simply me...
Best of Luck with your Resolutions!!!
c u soon with more... God Bless All!!!
